withdrawn

The tide crashes and falls on the sandy shore. A pink shaded moon hangs over the house as gentle tides lick Leo's toes.

"What's that supposed to mean?" He has to call over his shoulder. Though it's dark, he knows he can't look in his direction. He doesn't want to give him the satisfaction.

"I just...I'm not attracted to you. Like, you're a cool person and I really enjoy being around you but I'm not...sexually attracted to you."

"No, no, believe me I understand that part. But what about the other thing?" Leo's response is too quick, like he's had this conversation many times before.

"Oh, yeah, this was only meant to be temporary. I wasn't planning to stick around. There's bigger and better things out there."

"...Yeah, I guess you're right. I mean, I know you're right - I just hadn't thought that far ahead. I'd always said I was gonna get out of here but instead I just got more comfortable."

"Change is thrill, comfort kills." His response is immediate, like it had been a mantra for him before.

Leo sniffs a little and hopes the cool breeze hides his attempt to stop his nose from running. The mucus hits the back of his throat and he swallows, grateful to have some vice that would push him through this pain. A little booger sugar never hurt anybody...right?

"Coke is a rich man's drug that'll get a poor man caught up, Leo."

"Shut up, I'm just cold."
